Mason's First Visit to the Dentist

Today we took Mason for his first visit to the dentist. What an adventure!!! He seemed OK with the idea when I first talked to him about it. Once he was in the chair, however, it was a different story! The assistant tried to clean his teeth and Mason was having no part of that. She let him play with the water "gun" and "vacuum" and he loved that. She squirted water in a cup and let him suck it out with their "vacuum." "Where'd it go?", Mason would say. They played this game for quite awhile, and never got any teeth cleaned. Then the dentist came in to "count" Mason's teeth. Mason only cooperated after the dentist bribed him with a balloon. I'm sure everyone in the clinic could hear Mason screaming, "Daddy, help!" "No brush teeth!"

Here's Mason in the dentist chair, wearing some cool shades to keep the bright examination light out of his eyes.
Here's the assistant backing away from a screaming 3 year old! Mason looked at this picture and said, "I crying!"
The assistant told Matt that Mason actually did well for his first visit, and that his teeth looked fine. We are thankful that she was very kind and patient!
