Weekend in Manhattan

We traveled to Manhattan for a weekend FILLED with fun! I attended Women's World, a conference put on by Manhattan Christian College, with my friend Nikki. Mason and Maiya's daycare provider in Manhattan is a faithful conference attender, and I got to spend time with her throughout the weekend as well. We received spiritual encouragement and teaching, and had some fun girl time!

On Saturday, we watched the KSU women's basketball team beat the Colorado Buffaloes! Go Cats! We were able to meet up with some friends from our Manhattan daycare. The kids had fun together again.

The boys played their "air instruments" along with the band. Mason has a trombone, and his friends were playing guitars in the picture. (I think!)

The cutest cheerleaders there!

After the game, the basketball team was available to sign autographs. We got in line as quickly as we could. We waited in line about 30 minutes for the team to get out of the locker room, then we waited 30 minutes to get to the tables where they were sitting. The kids were very tired from the long day. This picture (above) was Mason and daddy waiting in line.

Saturday was Marlies Gipson day! This is her signing Mason's basketball. She's from McPherson, Kansas, and the stands were packed with fans from McPherson today.

Here's Mason with Shalee Lehning, probably the best female basketball player ever at KSU. They are retiring her jersey at the end of this season! She's from little Sublette, Kansas, and holds many high school records in Kansas.

These are the kids of the family we stayed with this weekend. The kids played really well all weekend. Even Maiya did well with all the boys!

Just a few miles out of Manhattan, Mason and Maiya crashed in the car! They were exhausted from a very fun weekend.
