Last Night of Awana
Matt took on the enormous task of Awana Commander this past school year. We had discussed it before I got sick, and we were going to be partners. Even after we knew I couldn't serve in that capacity, Matt still wanted to offer the program for all children of our community, Pre-K to 6th grade.
The founders of Awana derived the Awana name from the first letters of "Approved workmen are not ashamed" as taken from 2 Timothy 2:15 of the Bible.
Today, more than 12,000 U.S. churches run Awana with programs in all 50 states. Awana can also be found in over 10,000 churches in 109 other countries. Jack Eggar is our President/CEO. Art Rorheim serves as our Co-Founder/President Emeritus.
The kids enjoy the time with their friends, singing, playing games and memorizing verses.
Matt was able to play games with the kids on the last night. I was speaking to a women's group and wasn't able to be there. Thank you, my great photographer friend, for getting pictures for us!
Mason and his partner in crime!! Wonder what that conversation was about!
Matt cheering on Mason's tug of war team. We like this picture because all the competitors have their tongues out! Does that help your concentration or effort??
