Rain is so scarce this year, we have to watch it to make sure it's real! We had the dark clouds and thunder before the rain. It just started sprinkling and Mason said, "Mom! I prayed and prayed and prayed for it to rain here and in China and in Manhattan only. But not in Russia or China, because they're the bad people!" (I think he may have got the "bad people" idea from the movies "Fly Me to the Moon" and "Cars 2".) When it started pouring, Mason said, "I hope it doesn't flood here." Maiya replied, "Mason! God said He will never flood the earth again!"
Yesterday morning both of my kiddos were very grumpy. Maiya and I had appointments to get our hair cut in Dodge and I had made plans for Mason to stay with his cousins. Because of their grumpy attitudes, I cancelled Mason's date with his cousins and had him come with us. (It's torture for a little boy to be at a hair salon, right?) We got our hair cuts, did a quick trip to Wal-Mart, met Matt for lunch then headed home. On the way home, they asked what we were going to do for the afternoon. I told them we were all taking naps so we wouldn't be grumpy for the entire day. There was silence for a little while, then Maiya said, "Papa (Greg) is always mean. He never gets to take a nap." (I have NO idea where that comment came from, but it made me laugh!)
