End of the Awana year
Our Awana Commander, aka "Mr. Matt."
Matt takes on a huge responsibility as the leader of our church's Awana club. It's not always easy, but it is always worth it! He strives to talk to each clubber at every meeting, letting them know he cares. As one parent told me, "my kids think the world of Mr. Matt!" And it shows...he is popular with so many of these kids, including Mason and Maiya!
Silly face from a boy as I was attempting to take Maiya's picture with her friend.
Matt handed out all the awards and certificates for each clubber. This little cutie was our only member of Puggles.
Handing out awards to the Sparks. Mason and Maiya were in this class together this year. Mason would go to Awana for the social time and game time this year. Maiya loved the social part as well, but also worked diligently to memorize the books of the Bible as well as many scriptures.
The kids had cookies and Sno-Cones for the last night of Awana. The Sno-Cones are always a hit!
We recruited some high school girls to help make the Sno-Cones this year. We lett he kids have more than one if they wanted, and including all the staff, we estimated close to 100 were made! We were very thankful for the girls' help.
So thankful to be a small part of all these kids' lives!!
