I took Mason to the free throw contest at Bucklin this spring. When I first told him about it, he said, "really mom? Are you just kidding?" As if it was too good to be true!
We got there early and he was shooting baskets with the other boys for about 10 minutes. I walked up to him to say something and one of the other boys said, "Did you know your son has only missed like 2 shots!"
He won his division by making 16 of 25 shots. His age group moved a little closer to the goal than the free throw line, but I suspect he would have made about the same from the real free throw line.
He was more than a little proud! (And so are we!)
