Day trip

We took the kids on a day trip Friday to visit a museum and waterpark. It was a long, but very fun day! The museum had a large dinosaur display complete with sounds. The kids were actually a little scared, and even the T-Rex sound and movement caught Matt off guard!

The museum had a Discovery Room that let the kids do all kinds of exploring. Mason had fun looking through the microscope at all kinds of little bugs. The Discovery Room also had live spiders, frogs and snakes. While we were there, they did a demonstration with one of the snakes and took it out of the cage. It was interesting to hear the herpetologist teach all the children about snakes, and try to qualm their fears of snakes. It really didn't have much effect on me, however. I'm still quite frightenend!

After the museum, we headed to the waterpark. They didn't allow cameras in the waterpark, and I understand why, but I wish I had some pictures from our time there to share with you. We had such a great time! Instead, I'm attaching a picture from their website. You'll just have to call and ask Mason and Maiya about their time there!

I wanted to do a little shopping, also, so we went to the mall for a little bit before getting a bite to eat and heading home. Here's my last picture I took just five minutes down the road...

Is that in Hays? It looks like it. We were there last weekend for a family reunion and the kids loved the water park--I thought the same thing about the picture taking.
