A Conversation with Maiya

This is how the conversation went on our bike ride yesterday:

Me: Maiya, why do you keep getting off your bike when we turn corners?
Maiya: I don't want to fall when I turn.
Me: You won't fall. You have training wheels that help you balance.
Maiya: But mommy, I still might fall. Will you catch me if I fall?
Me: Maiya, you won't fall because of the training wheels.
Maiya: I might.
Me: If you fall, the ground will catch you.
Maiya: Mommy, the ground can't catch me because it doesn't have eyes!
