Halloween
Halloween this year was very low key. The kids enjoyed a small party at a friend's house.
I wonder how many little boys chose Spiderman this year...
Mason was excited to buy a new Spiderman costume at the store when we were preparing for Halloween. He wore it to the party at a friend's house, which was three days before the actual Halloween day. Halloween fell on a Monday, and we had planned to go to a costume contest after school then trick or treating. When I picked the kids up from school, Mason said he wanted to go on the combine with Papa. I tried to explain that he didn't really have time for that and trick or treating. He didn't care. He begged to go on the combine instead of trick or treating. I was a little suprised ~ Matt thought I shouldn't be. Sure enough, Mason got to ride with Papa for a few hours and when I picked him up, he was happy as can be. He didn't feel any regret over the decision he had made!
So I took my little cowgirl to the costume contest where she won "Prettiest Costume" for her age group. I asked a friend if we could go trick or treating with them since it's much more fun for the trick or treaters if you aren't by yourself. My friend offered then to just take Maiya with them so I could go home and rest. Yessss! Thank you, friend! Matt was out baling hay, Mason was with Papa and Maiya with a friend; it made my evening quiet! I did get to see some other trick or treaters, including this cute little witch in the picture above.
Maiya's award for winning "Prettiest Costume". It's a Barbie doll that has a tiara and a soccer ball. Maiya said, "Mommy, it's just perfect for me!"
