I'm a little behind with this post since we will have our fourth Awana meeting tonight. We have had around 40 kids each night so far. They are always so excited for Awana.
Matt has taken on the position of Awana Commander again this year. He tries to do something special for the start of the year and the end of the year.
He had a short meeting with parents on the first night. We wanted to impress upon the parents how their role is so important for the Clubbers during the week. Each kid has a handbook with Bible lessons and scripture memorization and it's up to the parents to help their kids progress through their handbooks. We are so glad they bring their children and that their children love coming, but we only have them 1 1/2 hours a week!
Matt rented two jump castles for the Kick-Off party. I think maybe we needed four so the kids didn't have to stand in line. Ha! In the picture below, Maiya and Braegan are at the front of the line.
Matt also rented a popcorn machine. We served the kids and parents lemonade with the popcorn.
We are so thankful for Marcel's faithfulness in Awana.
We are also very thankful for Hal's willingness to help, though he doesn't look very busy here, right?
