Basketball, basketball and more basketball!

We kept the basketball season going until mid-June this year.  In the early spring, Mason won the free throw contest at Bucklin.

The week of Memorial Day, both kids went to Coach Hamilton's basketball camp at Dodge City High School.  They both really enjoyed it.  Maiya said she learned 2 things:  1)  How to box out for a rebound and 2)  how to shoot 'out of the phone booth' and 'into the cookie jar.'

Clark County sponsored a day camp again this year.

Coach Chipman from Washburn led the camp with help from 2 KU players, Will Spradling, Shane Southwell both from KSU and Ron Baker from WSU.

Mason got to learn from some of Kansas' best basketball players.  Above he is with Ron Baker, a Scott City native who was WSU's outstanding player this year.  He led his team to a Final Four appearance this past season.

Shane Southwell of KSU was so good with the kids.  He made the day very fun.

Mason was most happy about seeing KSU's Will Spradling.  He was Mason's favorite KSU player to follow this year.  I can't complain when my son has role models like these!

Matt and Mason went to the father-son camp at KSU.  I think Matt was just as excited as Mason for this one!

Mason and Thomas Gipson

They played in Bramlage and in the new basketball training facility.  The new facility just opened this year.

Enough basketball?  Not for our little guy!
