End of School Play Day
Play Day was lots of fun this year! My favorite event is in the picture above. It was kind of hard to get good pictures, but I think from this one you can get the jist of it. The kids had rubber tubing hooked onto their feet. They put a rubber chicken in the tubing, leaned back, and let the bird fly!! Of course, they wore safety glasses for protection. Maiya's friend Isabella and teacher Mrs. Beard were watching her.
Big smiles!

The kids' favorite event was the scooter and mat race. They put a folded gymnastics mat on top of two scooters. Part of the team rode while the other part pushed them for one lap around the basketball courts. After one lap, they switched positions. Or...were supposed to switch positions. I think Mason got to ride far more than his share of times!
They had a basketball shooting contest, too.
And a hula hoop game. They had to pass the hula hoops all the way around their circle while still holding hands.
There were several water games, too. One had a bunch of clothes in a bucket of water. The kids had to get the clothing item out, run with it to the clothesline and hang it with clothes pins. The next person in line ran to get the clothing off the line and get back into the bucket of water.
Another race had an empty bucket and a bucket full of water. The kids had to use sponges to transfer the water from the full bucket to the empty one.
The day was pretty warm so the kids really enjoyed the water games.
